Yooie Chang

Yooie Chang joined Upstart Wealth Management in 2025 as a Tax and Financial Planning Associate, bringing a unique perspective shaped by nearly a decade of experience as a sommelier and beverage director at fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants. At Upstart, she supports the team’s tax services while pursuing her broader passion for using financial planning to help individuals achieve their life goals and make a positive impact in communities. After earning her Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and passing her Accredited Financial Counseling exam, she is currently pursuing her CFP® certification.

Yooie believes a well-lived life is a balanced one, combining meaningful work with personal growth and joyful pursuits. Guided by her commitment to service, she serves as Board Treasurer for a nonprofit organization that advocates for workers' rights in the hospitality industry. She lives in Chicago with her partner and their dog, Zucchini. In her free time, she enjoys learning new hobbies, playing the piano and bongo, and building strength and flexibility through yoga.
